King No-One are a four piece alternative rock band from York. Their distinctive sound is a perfect mix of rock and indie pop, allowing them to stand out as a great new band, who you should definitely look out for in the future. King No-One have gained a great following since I first saw them in 2015, playing as a support act for a small Manchester band, and they are now selling out many dates of their UK tour which is nearing an end, with only a few dates left across the North of England, these include Liverpool and York.

Recently King No-One played a sold out gig at The Deaf Institute, Manchester. Bayonet, an amazing indie-pop band from Sheffield opened the gig. This got the crowd on their feet and excited for what was coming next. They performed several songs including their new release "Call Me When It’s Over". Bayonet are a must see band for the near future and I hope to see more of them.

By the time King No-One appeared on stage the atmosphere was buzzed with excitement. The band opened with one of their most popular songs "Millennium", the upbeat hit was a great way to kick off the evening and get the audience ready for the rest of the gig. Part way through the set they performed "Say My Name", this slower song, along with "Antichrist", gave the crowd a chance to calm down and a more chilled mood filled the room. However, the lively atmosphere was quickly regained when they jumped right back into the set. Before closing the show the band played "Foreign Tongue" as requested by the crowd and then finished with a bang, performing their 2016 hit "Alcatraz"  to end the night.

Both King No-One and their support Bayonet made use of the small  venue and used it as an opportunity to interact with fans during and after the performance. When the gig had finished many excited fans stuck around to meet the band and congratulate them on the fab show, both bands were more than happy to take photos with fans and sign merchandise.

The experience can't quite be summarised, the band provided a ton of energy and they probably could have sold out a much larger venue. I couldn't fault the performance of either band one bit, and I don't think anyone else could either. King No-One are a band who you should definitely look out for in the future as they have a lot to offer to the alternative rock scene. I am hopeful to see them touring again very soon, especially as it has just been announced, today, that they will be performing at Reading and Leeds this summer.
