Probably one of my favourite bands, The Blinders, performed a killer set on Friday afternoon at United Footwear to celebrate and promote the release of The Charlatans new album Different Days during the bands Oldham Street Takeover. The album launch is definitely the most elaborate release I've ever attended or even heard of, involving many local bands and companies from Manchester while filling the whole day with countless events. Despite not attending much of the event I couldn't miss The Blinders and, although I never planned to, I had to write about them again since their performance is always impeccable.  See my previous review here .    Opening the afternoon set with their roaring set, The Blinders caused a serious buzz in the old shoe shop in Oldham Street. The venue was full to capacity while the band performed, everyone was getting involved with their engaging performance due to the great connection with their audience. Every time I've seen The Blinders perform they've been extremely intense, I'm always completely drawn in their amazing music and stage presence, they are a band you can't stop watching then can't wait to see again. The trio have a psychedelic punk rock sound to their music and bring everything they have to the stage, always taking over the entire venue. They now have an EP and two singles available on Spotify and ITunes. In my opinion Ramona Flowers is their best song but not by far, I also believe that every song they've released is faultless and they are all performed brilliantly when the band are live. Another song I enjoy is Swine, the A side to Ramona Flowers, is also packed with fierce riffs and never fails to radiate powerful vibes through a room.   I think The Blinders are one of my favourite bands to listen to and definitely to see live, I'd recommend them to every music lover and I will be seeing them again soon when they support Cabbage in July at the Ritz in Manchester. They are a must see band and a wonderful group of lads, after the show I had the pleasure of meeting them and had a short conversation where they hinted at more festival dates to come soon. You will be able to catch them next at Camden Rocks Festival in June, This Feeling Alive tour as well as Neighbourhood Festival, Manchester in October.   Other events that took place during The Charlatans Oldham Street takeover and album launch include album signings and many discos taking place through Manchester. As well as limited edition merchandise being sold, it was truly an amazing album launch and I wish I could have taken part in much more of it. Liv X
